Filed Under Gadgets And Gizmos | Leave a Comment
The Personal Digital Assistants better known as the PDA’s are new age electronic devices that store all your personal information and data and process it whenever you need it.
These devices are not only about storing and retrieving data but they come with a variety of options for added functionality and convenience.

The best PDAs are loaded with the most useful applications and are Internet ready to keep you on move. RAM is an essential factor for choosing a PDA device. The one that have more RAM helps you to process data faster and run more applications.
Some of these devices come with memory slots so that you can insert a compact flash or secured memory stick to increase its storage capacity. The handheld device is well equipped with networking capabilities. It helps you to get connected with LAN’s and other wireless networks.
A handheld model is designed to give you the freedom of accessing important data without the geographical limitations, and with added convenience. What is Goth music and why is it that people my age (60) like it?
I read a lot of books. Lately I have been reading books by John Ringo who has a great new series out. The hero listens to a lot of Goth music and where I live in Sacramento, CA I am hearing from other people in my age group who seem to enjoy this type of music. Normally all I listen to is old time Rock ‘n Roll, but I have no idea what Goth music is or where to go to listen to it. Please advise? Thx.

The Many Genres of Christian Music
Filed Under Music | Leave a Comment
We all probably know a couple religious hymns, but today’s fast-paced society is changing, and so is the style of music we listen to. Christian music has developed tremendously over the last century to represent the changing style of music that we enjoy. Contemporary music offers up-to-date music styles with the same traditional Christian message within the lyrics. In fact, Contemporary Christian music is growing quickly in popularity, and so is the number of subgenres offered to those interested in listening. In this article we discuss a few of the newer genres in Christian music.
Contemporary
Contemporary music literally covers all genres of new age Christian music, but is most commonly associated with a new movement of Christian music that has alternative rock, pop, and country sounds. The contemporary movement began in the 1960s, with this type of music then referred to as Jesus music. Some Christians dispute whether or not the contemporary tones fit into their religion, but contemporary is a popular genre that gives Protestant listeners an alternative faith-based style of music. The growth of contemporary styles has been strong since the mid 1990s, and newer artists and subgenres help to continue the expansion of Christian music.
Hip Hop
Christian hip hop, or gospel rap, is a unique genre of Christian music. Due to the often sinful nature of mainstream rap lyrics, it has been a tough road for Christian rap artists to gain popularity. However, beginning in the 1990s Christian rap has become popular with the younger generation looking for an uplifting form of music that reflects their urban lifestyle. The most popular innovators among Christian hip hop artists would likely be DC Talk, who took the music scene by storm in the late 1980s before making a switch to a more pop sound in the mid 1990s. Christian hip hop is a fabulous way for Christians to spread their faith to kids from the street and other youth looking for a fresh music genre.
Gospel
If gospel music does not fill your sole with spirit, then I am not sure what can! Gospel music is uplifting, inspiring, and fun to listen to. When most think of gospel music, churches in the south come to mind. In fact, gospel music has been thought to have started during times of slavery in the late 1800s. The genre of gospel became more defined and gained popularity in the first quarter of the twentieth century, and is now listened to worldwide. Gospel music is known for its strong vocals surrounded by electric guitars, bass, and drums. Gospel music thrives today and is certainly considered a staple of Christian music.
Christian Rock
Christian rock music covers a lot of ground with many different subgenres contained within the rock category. The “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll” explosion in the 1960s certainly made many Christians wary of jumping into the rock scene, but by the early 1970s Christian rock bands began to separate themselves from a demonic image, and instead produced Christian lyrics with rock tones. Today many bands are considered Christian rock artists, some more devoted to the Christian title than others. Although some might not realize this, the band U2 was a catalyst for Christian rock in the 1990s based on their enormous success beginning in the 1980s.
This is hardly a complete list of Christian music genres, but sampling some of these genres will give you a good taste of the great listening Christian music offers. Finding your favorite genre is important and will certainly enhance your experience. Being able to listen to your favorite Christian bands at home or on the go is a relaxing way to worship throughout the day.

The New Age Music Producer
Filed Under Music | Leave a Comment
Looking into the situation in the current music industry, a record producer (or music producer) can have a lot of roles. Among these roles may be task like, mentoring and guiding the artist or musicians, controlling the studio recording sessions, organizing and scheduling production budget and other music resources, and obviously one of the most important jobs of the producer was the supervising of the recording, and the mixing and mastering processes.
In the last 20 years the term producer has essentially taken on a new meaning in the music industry. More and more producers are taking a more entrepreneurial role or approach to the music business. This role has been enhanced part because of the recent evolution of digital music, specifically in the hip hop genre. In contemporary digital hip hop music, it is possible for the producer to be the only person involved in the creation of a musical record, album or recording. Today the producer can be responsible for writing, performing, recording and even arranging all the material for a song or album.
With the change and ever decreasing price of professional music software in the industry like FL Studio, Digidesign Protools, Cakewalk Sonar, and Steinberg Cubase, producers can recorded, compose, and arrange entire tracks and songs on a single bedroom computer and get very professional results. All the parts of music production that used to take almost an entire team of people to do, can now all be done by one person, the producer.
The hip hop music industry, for the most part, can be seen as a major beneficiary to the current trend of music technology price drops. People of all economic statuses are now able to have access to some of the best music production tools at very affordable prices. Having powerful semi-professional music software and equipment was almost unheard of about 15 to 20 years ago. Now people of all age group and demographics are able to make music from the comfort of their own homes or studios. Most basic music producers are even able to set up small studios in their basements or bedrooms and get very close to a professional quality recording or sound.
We really don’t know where technology is going to take us in the future of music, but all the current economic signs say the technology will continue to get cheaper by the day. Making it more and more affordable for any body wanting to get into the music production business to set up a studio from home and make professional sounding albums and recording.

New Age Spirituality - Morning Has Been All Night Coming ( Part 93 )
Filed Under Religion | Leave a Comment
As soon as He stopped speaking, the entire scenery around us shimmered and disappeared. In a split second we were back in the offices of G&M Enterprises, Inc. It seemed as if we had never left. We were even sitting in the same positions as before. It certainly was exciting being with God - strange, but exciting.
“Lord,” I said, “I’ve been waiting these many years to ask You questions of tremendous importance to me. Yet, when I’m in Your Presence, the questions don’t seem all that important. Everything seems to be just fine when I am near You.”
“Then why don’t you practice being near me more often? Why can’t you be near me whenever you want? I am always close to you,” He said.
“I haven’t gone to church in quite a while, Lord. I usually miss a few Sundays each month. I guess I’ll go more often now.”
“I, myself, haven’t gone recently,” He said. “I think I’ll have to drop by some of them to see what they’re up to.”
I almost fell off my chair. I thought that perhaps I hadn’t heard Him correctly. But I remained quiet as He continued.”It’s not that I don’t like some aspects of church. The music is usually good and I do enjoy the singing. But think of it,John, century after century of listening to the same thing. Preachers shouting doom and gloom from their pulpits. Congregations being threatened into believing ridiculous arguments about me and my intentions. Each group, sect or denomination claiming to know the right way. Imagine listening to what is called ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ hundreds of millions of times a week. Only once in a while do I hear someone say it with feelings. All the rest is just noise and meaningless babble. The same goes for the entire worship situation.

New Age Spirituality - Morning Has Been All Night Coming ( Part 73 )
Filed Under Self Help | Leave a Comment
In the middle of trying to put the pieces together, there was a banging on my bedroom door and, as they sometimes do, Malika and Jonathan rushed in.
“Hi, Daddy!” Shouted Jonathan.
“We thought you were sleeping,” said Malika. “But when we heard the phone, we knew you had to be awake.” “Hi kids,” I said. “Is everything OK?”
They must have seen the confusion on my face as I sat there. Malika replied, “Yes, of course. What’s the matter, Daddy?”
“Nothing. Did you and Jonathan have a good time last evening? You didn’t give the baby-sitter a rough time, I hope.”
“Baby-sitter?” She asked. “What baby-sitter?”
“The one who took care of you last night,” I said. “What do you think I’m talking about?”
“We didn’t have a baby-sitter last night, Daddy. Are you sure you’re OK?”
“Maybe you were sleeping and the phone woke you up in the middle of a dream,” said Jonathan.
I looked at them curiously and then said, “Yes, I must have been dreaming. It seemed so real.”
“Tell us about your dream, Daddy,” said Malika.
Not wanting to say much, I replied, “It was something about going out to dinner with friends and leaving you and Jonathan with a sitter. That’s how dreams are sometimes. They seem so real.”
“You were so tired when you came home from the office yesterday,” Malika said, “that immediately after dinner, you told us you needed a nap. You changed into your nightclothes and fell asleep. It was very early. You really slept for a long time. I hope you’re rested now and feel a lot better.”
“And, Daddy,” said Jonathan, “you left the lights on. Malika and I turned them off.”
“Well, thank you. Let’s go get washed up and I’ll be down for breakfast in a few minutes,” I said.
I got out of bed and after a little while went downstairs for breakfast. Saturdays and Sundays have always been very special days for the children and me. During the week, they attend school and I go to the office. But on weekends we spend as much time as possible with one another. They grow so quickly and then they’re gone. I wanted to enjoy every moment I spent with them. Although it may appear at times that raising children is 90 percent sheer frustration and 10 percent pure enjoyment, I think the joy and the love make it all worthwhile. Like most other Saturdays, today promised to be fun.
After breakfast, the children wanted to go over to a friend’s house for a short while. When they were gone, I went upstairs and decided to rearrange some of my books while listening to music. Last night’s dream was still so vivid. If I listened carefully, I could still hear the mournful sound of bagpipes and the crash of the ocean upon the shores of the little village.
Thinking about nothing in particular and everything in general, I was starting to put the dream into the background of my mind when I noticed a sheet of paper at the foot of my bed. Paper comes from trees, I mused as I reached down and picked it up. Trees? Theo was speaking about trees last evening. Who was Theo? Oh, the dream, of course. Well, dreams are dreams and reality is reality, and they are two distinct segments of life. Thus ran my thoughts.
I glanced at the writing on the sheet of paper, assuming that it belonged to Jonathan or Malika. There, penned in beautiful letters, were the words, “Dinner at the Restaurant at the Edge of Eternity - 7:00 P.M.” I stared at it again, as I stood there in total amazement. Perhaps my dream was not a dream after all.
